Olympian plumps for Brazil
Thursday, 06th November 2008
Following one of the most successful Olympic Games in the history of British sport, it is hardly surprising that the athletes need to get some peace and quiet away from the glare of media and public interest and their new-found celebrity. A property overseas is one of the best ways of doing this, and one of the biggest stars of Team GB has decided to invest in an off-plan property on Brazil's north east coast as a retreat from a punishing schedule of training and media appearances in the UK.
Chris Hoy, who won three gold medals in the track cycling events in Beijing, has bought a property on the Laguna Beach development in Tabatinga in the Natal region. With the north east of Brazil just a six-hour flight away, buying property in Brazil makes sense from a lifestyle point of view as well as for investment.
